I had a dream…a dream to be my own boss, to own my own business.  I had some knowledge and a general direction. I knew what I did not want…Would it work? Where was I to start?  How was I to get to my dream?  What were the steps?  Do I know enough?  All these questions along with learning a new business were taxing.  Usually there was a coworker that would be a good sounding board to confirm decisions to tough situations.  Who could help me?  I wanted my dream.

Coaching was the answer for me to live my dream.  When I connected with Nancy, things began to change.  She was able to make sense of all of the questions.   Starting with setting goals of what I wanted to accomplish, by helping make it clear what I needed to do, what my strengths and weaknesses are, how I could use them to make decisions and what I needed to change.  It was easy to get things accomplished when I had to report weekly what I had achieved.  It gave me the initiative to work through issues to get to the next goal.

There are many other benefits of having a coach, new ideas, showing me options, helping with technical issues, self-esteem, confidence, empowerment, self worth. I was also given information to change my behavior and show me how to be a more effective manager by facing issues that were working against me.

It seems that every time I have a coaching session, business improves. By being coached, I have been able to move a dream to reality.  Nancy has been invaluable mentor and coach.  She has guided, inspired, and worked with me to create the reality that I wanted.  It would not have happened without her.  She is the best!

“When Nancy first approached me about coaching, she said she wanted to help make me stronger so I wouldn’t lose my business.  I didn’t like hearing that because I felt I had made it pretty far and was strong enough, given where I had come from.  As time went on and we began working together, Nancy helped me see a lot of things about myself and how they affected my business.  She has helped me to work from my strengths and prepare for tasks that utilize skills where I haven’t felt as strong.  When I leave a session, I always have an action plan, so my lesson is not really through.  The other thing I like about Nancy is that she’s not a ‘clock watcher’.  She’s truly a coach who takes my calls nearly any time during business hours- in other words, she really cares and is not just doing this for the money.  Though I know I am not my business, I have learned that how I am affects my business.  Since I’ve been working with Nancy, I’ve been learning to play my “A” game.  I have quite a few slip-ups along the way, but every day I get up and go again and am a little better than the day before.”
